Installation & Maintenance
The Storage and Installation of Noxious Gas Suppression and Extremely Fire Resistant Tile Carpet
The Noxious Gas Suppression and Extremely Fire Resistant Tile Carpet produced by Yoshidafusa Orimono Co., Ltd. was developed using our propriatary manufactoring process. A proper understanding of how these products were made and proper storage and installation methods will help ensure a quality finish.
The Noxious Gas Suppression and Extremely Fire Resistant Tile Carpet require the use of a special adhesive (thermo plasticizer resin ) and a secondary fabric backing base (non woven flame resistant fiber + special polyester fiber) are used resulting in an extremely fire resistant product that has been made lighter and given increased cushion. す。
From a design perspective as well, proper installation is key with the Noxious Gas Suppression and Extremely Fire Resistant Tile Carpet so we ask that you confirm the installation instructions.
1. Storage Consideration
Please store the Noxious Gas Suppression and Extremely Fire Resistant Tile Carpet without opening the wrapping and store on a flat surface.
Please refrain from stacking too high or storing in places where rain water or standing water will be a problem.
2. Considerations upon Unloading
If the corners of the package are damaged or broken, you will not be able to install our Noxious Gas Suppression and Extremely Fire Resistant Tile Carpet neatly so please follow the advice below.
(1) Do not bump the corners of the cardboard package or toss the package around. (This will result is delamination and deformation.)
(2)Do not stack the cardboard packages any more than 5 high. (This will result in flattening or deformation.)
(3)Do not stack the cardboard packages on end for a long time. (This will cause deformation)
3. Considerations upon Preparation
If at all possible, try to open up the packages in dry environment between 10 and 40 degrees Celsius.
This caution is necessary because sometimes dramatic shifts in humidity during installation can cause small shifts in the joined ends, resulting in a material flare up and/or cause the designs to shift.
If this happens, please stack the tile carpet in a stack of 50. When you stack them, make sure that the arrows on the reverse side of these tiles are all pointing in the same direction and that the corners are all lined up evenly.
Further, please use items with the same number, color and lot when doing the installation.
◎ Carefully Evaluate the Sub-surface.
(1)If the sub-surface is uneven, has cracks or holes, be sure to repair before proceeding.
(2)If the sub-surface is uneven, has cracks or holes, be sure to repair before proceeding.(Water content 5% and under)
If the sub-surface is concrete and the extra water content (more than 8%) is highly akaline, it can sometimes give off an alcohol like odor.
(3) Garbage, dust and oily particles will result in a poor adhesive finish and delamination so please take care to remove them.
(4) When reforming the sub surface, make sure that all of the old material and adhesive are completely removed and that the working surface is flat.
◎ Checking of Measurements
Please take care to carefully measure the entrance to any rooms with four walls to make sure that you can accommodate extremely narrow entrances.
◎Regarding Adhesive (Peel-up Bond)
When you use the Noxious Gas Suppression and Extremely Fire Resistant Tile Carpet, the peel-up adhesive bonding agent is used.
Please mix the adhesive well before using.
The amount of open time, the amount applied as well as the unique characteristics of the tile carpet, are all very important factors that contribute to a beautiful finish.
To this end, there are many types of acrylic emulsion bonding agents and artificial latex rubber bonding agents available.
In some cases, use rubber type latex type adhesive.
◎ How to apply Peel-up Bond
(1)Using the comb-shaped utensils provided, spread the adhesive fairly thickly (200g/m2 – 300g/m2) over the area.
(2)As far as the open time, of course it depends on many variables, but a rule of thumb is that the low part of the comb-shaped (i.e. the shallow depth) adhesive spread should be clear before the carpet is set into place.
4. Installation
1.Ichimatubari
It is the most classical pasting method by changing the direction with the adjacent tile by 90 ° and pasting it. There is merit that joints are less noticeable compared to pasting pasted in the same orientation.
2.Nagashibari
Please install all pieces so that they are flowing in the same way (Not in a checkered pattern)
The design for the Noxious Gas Suppression and Extremely Fire Resistant Tile Carpet has been made to install using this method with all tiles flowing the same way.
(1)If you try to place these tiles together in a checked pattern, the corners and adjoining lines will not look aligned.
(2)Even with the printed tile, the lateral lines or more detailed designs in the pattern may look slightly askew making the alignment somewhat difficult but this is not a design flaw.
To maximize the design of the tile carpet, do not pinch the pile-based material.
●Take care not to wedge in a pile into the joints
●The joints for a four-square edge joint may be high-lighted due to outside light. If this is the case, you may want to try smoothing out the sub-surface with a roller.
●In the odd occurance, it is possible that a pile based tile square may be slightly longer than the others. In this instance, please cut to the desired length with a scissors.
Precautions
●There will be some loose wool fibers that come from the wool carpet but this is not a defect.
●If the tile carpet delaminates, warps or bulges, please have this fixed at once. If this is left unattended to, this will not only serve to make the floor unattractive but also may cause someone to trip and fall.
●After the cut pieces are put into place and the carpet is being used, sometimes the pile can produce a sort of mirage effect but this is charatoristic of cut piles and not a defect.
●In places where water is used directly, spread a mat and change this mat frequently.
●Rubber products and rubber used in furniture, paint, preservatives and pesticides etc., can have a negative effect on the carpet, causing it to become soiled and discolored.
●The legs of furniture as well as high heels and other sharp objects have been known to cause indentations.
Maintenance
●As we have explained in the guide, the tile carpet using wool will tend to loose some strands soon after installation. However, regular use of a vaccuum cleaner will greatly reduce this problem.
●Wool fibers are by nature, quite difficult to soil and a regular use of a vaccuum cleaner will go a long way toward keeping your carpet clean. However, when it does get dirty, wash the affected carpet with water and a mild solution of natural detergent.
●Chlorine and industrial-use chemicals can cause the pile to discolor.
●If the tile carpet is pealed back multiple time after being set in place, the adhesive qualities will deteriorate. If this happens, please reattach using adhesive and in the explained peel-up method. Please use the peel-up method when applying the adhesive. (Also, be sure to abide by the open-time recommendations.)
●Replace a section that has become difficult to clean.
